Whatsapp

MyGPT Assistants supports integration with WhatsApp, one of the world's most widely used messaging apps. This is achieved through a Meta app and a WhatsApp Business Account connected to the Meta app. This allows businesses to automate responses, provide customer service, and engage with their customers on a platform with a massive user base.

Prerequisites

Activating WhatsApp Channel on My GPT Assistants To activate the WhatsApp channel, you need to supply the following details to My GPT Assistants:

  • A Meta app - This can be created by following the initial two steps available on Metas Official Documentation.

  • A WhatsApp Business Account linked to your Meta app.

Navigate to the bot integration page and select the WhatsApp option. You will be prompted to enter the following information:

  • Phone Number ID: On your Meta app's WhatsApp Getting Started page, duplicate the Phone Number ID and insert it here.

  • Verify Token: Create a random alphanumeric sequence to confirm that webhook requests originate from Meta.

  • Webhook URL: Duplicate the Webhook URL from My GPT Assistants and insert it in the Webhook URL field on your Meta app's WhatsApp Getting Started page.

  • Access Token: If you possess a permanent access token, you can insert it here. If not, insert your 24-hour access token here. Press the Save button to preserve your modifications.

Congratulations! You have successfully activated the WhatsApp channel for your bot. You are now able to interact with your bot via WhatsApp.

Setting Up Webhooks It's crucial to set up webhooks on your Meta app's WhatsApp Webhooks page.

In your Meta app dashboard, subscribe to the messages webhook to enable messaging.
